About

Our rich history dates back to 1952, when business partners John Huff and Jim Malloy began producing homemade ice cream in Nineveh, N.Y. They distributed their ice cream both at a parlor operated by John’s wife, Aggie, and to retail and home delivery accounts throughout a five-county area.

Today, Huff remains a family-owned distributor and provides a wide variety of food products to the grocery, convenience store and food service industries in 48 counties across New York and Pennsylvania. Led by John and Aggie’s sons, John and Paul Huff, third generation Alex Huff, a team of more than 70 experienced professionals is building on more than 60 years of delivering quality products and exceptional customer service.

Over the years, Huff has expanded its distribution business in both size and reach. By the late 1980s, the growing company was serving convenience stores and needed more space to accommodate its increasing capacity needs. In 1989, the company relocated to the Sidney Industrial Park in Sidney, N.Y., a move that allowed it to capitalize on other growth opportunities. In the 1990s Huff expanded into grocery stores and then the food service industry in the early 2000s. The past decade has included service to the drug, dollar and value channels.

The most recent years have seen strategic investments in facilities, fleet, technology and personnel, making it possible for continued growth and program development. Expanding the product line to include refrigerated foods, frozen foods, salty snacks and sweets has helped create a balanced portfolio that has the company positioned for sustained growth for years to come.
